Exciting News! Hemingways Ol Seki’s New Look!
We are thrilled to share our new images of the beautiful new Ol Seki.
As you will recall, we decided to completely renovate (almost rebuild) the bedroom tents and guest areas to elevate the guest experience and enhance the luxurious feel of the camp.
Our new eight Nina (double) tents have floor-to-ceiling folding glass frontages, with higher ceilings to give the best possible views over the Mara, completely new bathrooms with more luxurious fixtures and fittings including free standing bath tubs, indoor and outdoor rain showers, along with re-configured layouts for even greater privacy.
Simba, our family tent, has been completely rebuilt. The layout remains the same with two spacious double/twin bedrooms connected with a gorgeous lounge and dining area. Like the Nina tents, the bedrooms are fully ensuite and enjoy free standing tubs as well as indoor and outdoor rain showers.
A major enhancement to Simba is the addition of a private plunge pool on the terrace. Simba guests will continue to enjoy the service of a private butler, chef and private vehicle.
The dining room and lounge area have been completely redesigned to create a larger open plan space for relaxation and dining, including a new bar and sunken baraza seating space, all of which will make the most of the fabulous views over the Mara plains.
Taking inspiration from the circular shape and Bedouin feel of the Nina tents, the team at White Elephant Kenya have worked their magic on the interior design, introducing a tribal nomadic theme using hand carved mango wood, raffia and bakuba wall hangings from central Africa, locally hand-woven fabrics and custom designed brass and alabaster stone lights. Lattice wood divides, used throughout the new tents, dining and lounge areas, represent a modern take on a traditional Moroccan screen and allow for gentle air flow in the heat of the day and a cozy feel during the chilly nights.
