Ethiopian Airlines Launches Three-Weekly Service to Mauritius

Ethiopian Airlines has commenced passenger services to Mauritius, operating three flights per week between the island nation and its hub at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The new route, which began operations on Sunday 12 July, links Mauritius to the airline's extensive global network spanning more than 160 passenger and cargo destinations across five continents. The service is expected to enhance travel convenience while supporting trade, tourism, and people-to-people ties between Ethiopia and Mauritius.

Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew described Mauritius as "a destination of remarkable beauty, rich culture and growing economic importance," adding that the new link would bring the world closer to the island through the airline's vast international connections across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. The launch forms part of Ethiopian Airlines' broader African network expansion strategy, reinforcing its position as one of the continent's largest carriers and a member of the Star Alliance. For Mauritius - an island nation heavily reliant on tourism - the addition of direct connectivity to Addis Ababa opens access to a significantly wider pool of travellers across multiple continents through a single hub connection.
