ER Group Opens Nairobi Office to Drive East African Expansion
Mauritius-listed business group ER Group has established a regional office in Nairobi and launched a MUR 1 billion (approximately $21.2 million) regional fund, backed by equity partners, to accelerate investment and partnerships across East Africa. The move forms part of the Group's ten-year regionalisation strategy, which targets growing international revenue from 15% to 30% over the coming decade, with Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Rwanda, and Uganda identified as the first phase of expansion. Rasmus Bentzen has been appointed as regional representative in Nairobi, bringing over a decade of experience in private equity and regional investment across the continent.
Formed in 2025 through the merger of Mauritian business flagships ENL and Rogers, ER Group operates across 17 territories and seven business segments - including Hospitality & Travel, Logistics, and Finance. Its East African footprint is already established through logistics arm Velogic, which has operated in Kenya since 2016, and ER Aviation, which supports airline connectivity across the region in partnership with carriers including Kenya Airways and South African Airways. For the first half of FY26, the Group reported revenue of MUR 23.2 billion ($492.7 million) and a profit after tax of MUR 2.6 billion ($55.2 million), providing a strong financial base from which to pursue its regional ambitions.
