Equatorial Guinea has been officially selected to participate in the Young Chef Olympiad 2026, one of the most prestigious international youth culinary competitions, to be held in India from February 1 to 7, 2026.

Following the official country draw held on Monday, December 15, during which the groups and host cities for the initial phase of the competition were determined, Equatorial Guinea was assigned to Delhi, one of the event’s key host cities.

In this edition, Equatorial Guinea will be represented by young chef María Ayang, from the Grand Hotel Djibloho Culinary School, who will compete in Delhi alongside participants from the United Arab Emirates, Zimbabwe, England, Lesotho, Albania, Bulgaria, Wales, and Oman. The Equatorial Guinean contestant will bring to the international stage the talent, creativity, and culinary excellence that define the country’s gastronomy.

The Young Chef Olympiad brings together young chefs from more than 60 countries each year, serving as a platform for cultural and gastronomic exchange, where innovation, technique, and national culinary identity take center stage.

Equatorial Guinea’s participation in the Young Chef Olympiad 2026 reaffirms its commitment to culinary education, the international promotion of young talent, and the global projection of national gastronomy, consolidating its presence at one of the world’s most significant youth culinary events.

Grand Hotel Djibloho will continue to share updates on the preparation process and key milestones leading up to Equatorial Guinea’s official participation. We also extend our best wishes to María Ayang and all contestants competing in the Young Chef Olympiad 2026.
