Discover Magical Kenya’s Southern Circuit
Join us on a journey to discover the wonders of Kenya’s Southern Circuit and in particular the vast Tsavo plains and Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary with Mohammed Hersi and Sanjeev Kumar from Taita Hills and Salt Lick Wildlife Resorts.
Located in the coastal province of Kenya in between Nairobi City and Mombasa and covering nearly 22,000 square kilometres, Tsavo is the largest national park in Kenya and one of the largest in the world. The park was split into two - Tsavo East and West - due to the railway connecting Mombasa to the interior of Kenya. The parks are best known for their large herds of elephants, many of which are ‘big tuskers’, with tusks which can each weigh over 50kg.
The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary straddles the Southern Tsavo West National Park and is an important migrating corridor for wildlife between Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park. Biodiversity recovery is a large focus at Taita Hills and we will guide you through the measures being put in place to preserve the landscapes, maintain wildlife numbers and protect against poaching.
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is famed for being among the World’s most photographed Lodges. Located in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary the lodge overlooks a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains.
Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is a unique stone building that houses a museum displaying World War 1 memorabilia as part of the rich history of Taita Taveta County. Here you can also explore the rich Taita culture.
We hope you can join us to discover the wealth of experience available in this beautiful corner of Magical Kenya!
