Cape Town Airport hits 1m passengers in October
Cape Town International Airport handled more than one million passengers in October 2025, Airports Company South Africa said, a milestone usually reached only in December. The early surge signals a strong start to the peak travel season and reflects resilient demand for travel to and from the Western Cape, supported by collaboration with the Air Access Steering Committee.
Acting Regional General Manager Thabo Phateng said the focus is on delivering safe, efficient and welcoming operations as volumes rise. ACSA cited ongoing investment in infrastructure, technology and service quality, alongside coordination with airlines, ground handlers, ATNS and border authorities, to manage capacity and maintain service levels through the festive period.
