Airlink targets European codeshares from Johannesburg
Airlink has set out plans to sell codeshare flights between Johannesburg and Paris, Frankfurt and London as its 2025 network strategy extends into 2026. The airline applied in November 2025 to the International Air Services Council to amend its licence to include one weekly return on each route – allowing it to market seats under an Airlink code on partner‑operated services, subject to regulatory approvals.
The carrier already has unilateral agreements on these routes – Air France for Paris, Lufthansa and Condor for Frankfurt, and British Airways and Virgin Atlantic for London – with scope for some to evolve into bilateral codeshares if approvals are granted. Airlink says the move supports its focus on serving Southern and East Africa, Madagascar and St Helena, while providing connections through more than 30 international partners.
