South African Tourism has officially opened buyer registration for Africa’s Travel Indaba (ATI) 2025, inviting hosted and non-hosted buyers to apply from March 3 onwards. This announcement marks the next phase of preparations for one of Africa’s leading travel trade shows, set to take place from May 12-15 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Under the theme “Unlimited Africa”, this year’s ATI aims to spotlight the continent’s boundless tourism opportunities while driving strategic conversations around sustainable growth and economic impact. The event will bring together key stakeholders from across the globe, including exhibitors, buyers, and thought leaders from the travel and tourism sector.

“With tourism playing a vital role in economic recovery and job creation, Africa’s Travel Indaba continues to foster meaningful dialogue, forge strategic partnerships, and showcase Africa’s unique tourism offerings to the world. We are excited to welcome industry leaders, delegates, and stakeholders as we collectively shape the future of African tourism,” said Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille.

According to figures from South African Tourism, the previous edition of ATI welcomed a record 9,280 registered delegates and 1,200 exhibitors, generating an estimated R226 million (€11.7 million) in direct economic impact for Durban, along with R333 million (€17.2 million) in broader economic benefits across various sectors.

The 2025 event will once again be hosted in partnership with the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality and the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority, reinforcing Durban’s position as a premier destination for global trade events.
