Meetings Africa 2026 marks 20th year with wider global reach

Meetings Africa 2026 closed in Johannesburg on 25 February, marking its 20th edition and highlighting Africa’s growing profile in global business events. Hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre over three days – from BONDay to two trade days – the show drew buyers from 53 countries, 375 hosted buyers and 325 exhibitors, with more than 6,400 confirmed business meetings.

South Africa’s Minister of Tourism reported the event’s GDP impact nearly doubled from R371 million in 2023 to R690 million in 2025, supporting more than 2,600 jobs. Industry leaders, including ICCA, noted rising capability across African destinations, while organisers highlighted structured buyer selection and match‑making systems as drivers of quality engagements – reinforcing the region’s MICE value chain and pipeline.
