Abelana Game Reserve is pleased to announce that they have appointed Hugh and Sally Sanders of AfriAsia and Beyond to represent them in the UK market. AfriAsia and Beyond was established in 1997 and have represented many Southern African game lodges and Asian luxury resorts.

“Abelana” means to “share amongst each other” in North Sotho.

Abelana Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province, South Africa is a 15 000ha private game reserve with Abelana River Lodge and Abelana Safari Camp in association with the Mashishimale Community who own the land. Abelana started the development of the private game reserve in 2018, even though the original property was proclaimed a private nature reserve in 1959.

This exciting development in the area brings much needed job creation to this rural community and to date 89 jobs have been created and many of the staff employed had no or very little prior hospitality experience.

The property has undergone a transformation into a photographic opportunity and the 2 lodges have already established a good reputation amongst many nationalities. Certain key species such as rhino and lion had to be reintroduced to ensure that the reserve enjoys the big five, the rest of the endemic species were already present on the reserve in significant numbers.

Abelana River Lodge is on a unique location with approximately 2 kilometers of river frontage of the Selati River.

Bryan West, Abelana Sales Manager who has worked with Hugh and Sally in the past says “I am excited to work with AfriAsia and Beyond and know that they will add real value in the UK market for a truly unique brand, Abelana”
