Overview

Far & Wild is an award-winning travel company specialising in high-quality, tailor-made, and sustainable holidays worldwide, with specialist expertise in Africa.

Every trip we create is designed to make a positive impact – from our pioneering carbon scoring initiative to championing eco-friendly properties and donating $50 per traveller to community causes.

Our mission is to make every holiday special and make travel a force for good, and we support local projects that empower communities and help protect wildlife.

We currently work with the Leo Project in Kenya and Play it Forward in Zambia and have also collaborated closely with the Tusk Trust. In 2020, our award-winning Ride 4 Rangers initiative raised over $500,000 for African rangers whose livelihoods were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Africa sales team have all lived, worked, or travelled extensively in the countries they represent, combining in-depth knowledge with trusted local partnerships to create truly special holidays. They bring specialist expertise, extraordinary experiences, and a strong commitment to sustainability, to ensure that every holiday is not only unforgettable but meaningful.

Play it Forward

Website http://play-itforward.org/

Since our inception in 2017, Play it Forward has been dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of Zambian communities. We are passionate about reducing poverty and improving livelihoods through sustainable projects that are owned and driven by the very people we serve.

In both urban and rural areas where we operate, young people, especially girls, face a myriad of challenges. High rates of unemployment and poverty place them at significant risk of exploitation, including child marriage, teenage pregnancy, gender-based violence, drug and alcohol addiction, and involvement in criminal activities. These issues can result in profound trauma and mental health concerns.

We work closely with communities to provide life-changing opportunities that enable young people to reach their full potential and thrive. Our approach is rooted in close and equal partnership between Play it Forward in the UK and our Zambian registered NGO counterpart, known locally as Play it Forward Zambia. What sets us apart is that our Zambian team is composed of individuals from the very communities we work in. This unique advantage provides us with an unparalleled understanding of the challenges and needs on the ground.

The Leo Project

Website http://www.theleoproject.org/

Started in honor of Caitlin O’Hara, The LEO Project is a community-based organization committed to driving social change through healthcare and education programs.

We believe that equitable access to education and healthcare is a universal human right. We pilot, implement, and sustain programs as a means to unite, empower, and—most importantly—drive social change.
