We are pleased to announce that our NEW private bush camp on the edge of the Ruaha National Park in Tanzania will open for the first guests this October 2020 with all the Covid-19 precautions in place.

The new sister-camp of the popular HODI HODI Beach Houses in Zanzibar is HODI HODI Ruaha Bush Camp. Two hours drive from lringa town airport, through villages and forests, our stunning camp awaits you, on the edge of a ridge overlooking Ruaha National Park, in a vast wildlife management area.

Situated 8 kilometres outside the park, a thousand metres above sea-level, a horseshoe shaped valley facing into the sunset is the setting for our tented camp. Our land merges into the Wildlife Management Area bordering the park itself. Game on the mountain ridges around us and the wide plains below is constant and varied, including giraffe, klipspringer, elephant, sable antelope and occasionally lion, leopard and the rare African wild dog.

The Hodi Hodi Bush Camp accommodation is spread along the ridge both sides of our dining area. The tents are stylish and comfortable, built hanging off the steep ridge, on teak wood decking, with a brick-built bathroom, tented front and sides and protective netting open to your views. Full solar-power ensures you have light, hot water and cold drinks.

Our meals are taken around the firepit in an area safe from wildlife, and all produce is bought from local farms, in line with the HOOi HOOi 'buy local, employ local' policy. The bar and lounge with a cooling plunge-pool is above our wildlife waterhole, where impala, zebra, kudu, warthog and baboon may come and drink as you refresh yourselves after a dusty day exploring the bush, and if we are lucky, elephant and leopard will visit later at night.

We offer full day Game Drives in the Park, Walking Safaris and Night Drives on our own private 200 acres of wild africa and cultural trips to the local Maasai and Hehe tribe villages.
