Masuwe Primary students plant trees as part of Bushtracks Footprint initiative
By *Christopher Tett, BushtracksBushtracks Footprint is an initiative aimed at promoting responsible tourism in our areas of focus. We aim to contribute to community upliftment, wildlife conservation efforts and lessening our environmental impact. Bushtracks Africa has partnered with Treeco in order to encourage reforestation in the Victoria Falls area. In an attempt to offset our carbon emissions, one tree will be planted for every Bushtracks Steam Safari train ticket sold.
Recently 1200 trees were distributed to the Masuwe community, a mixture of fruit bearing trees, as well as trees of great value to the community in many practical ways. Members of the Bushtracks Africa Team assisted with teaching the children from Masuwe Primary School how to plant and take care of the saplings.
