The Gambia Tourist Board has launched a new campaign to increase tourism to the country, via Africa tourism marketing experts, Kamageo. The campaign theme, "You'll Smile, Too!" pays homage to the nickname of The Gambia - The Smiling Coast of Africa.

Malick Jeng, Tourism Destination Manager at GTB in the UK explained "We tasked Kamageo to develop an impactful new look and we were delighted with this campaign and its joyful message."

Kamageo's Chief Executive, Tim Henshall added that, "Most UK holidaymakers and tour operators rightly know The Gambia for its year-round sunshine and terrific coastline hotels. But we want them to look beyond the beaches and discover a vibrant destination with amazing culture, plenty of wildlife and so much colour and warmth".

Kamageo currently represents three West African countries - Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Senegal - and are confidently predicting that the region's visitor numbers are set to increase dramatically. Tim Henshall emphasised, "West Africa is the last major part of the planet not to see high levels of tourism and it has everything that modern travellers seek - welcoming people, history, culture, wildlife and huge energy. I suggest that West African tourism boards should cooperate to run a generic campaign, whilst also running their own individual campaigns, too".
