Tourism industry leaders collaborate at the Business of Conservation Conference

“Investing in one of Africa’s great assets” the theme that has run through the annual Business of Conservation Conference in Kigali, Rwanda over the weekend.

The African Leadership University’s School of Wildlife Conservation the hosts for the event believe that to truly improve wildlife conservation in Africa it must be owned and driven by Africans, we must focus on benefiting people and that leadership and management skills are more essential than ever.

These sentiments ring true with African Bush Camps founder, CEO and professional guide, Beks Ndlovu. African Bush Camps is an owner-run company with camps based in Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, the company proudly invests in its African people strictly employing citizens of the respective countries in which it operates. Education, empowerment, community and conservation are at the core of developing an experiential travel enterprise. Conserving and sharing Africa together is the golden thread which binds us in the African tourism industry. 

Beks was invited by African philanthropist Fredrick Swaniker to share his story at the Business of Conservation Conference, the aim is to catalyze a new wave of economic development in Africa. Sharing ideas and lessons of successful businesses and bringing influential leaders together to generate viable business models and strategies which can be implemented creating a unique advantage in the progress of African conservation.

Through collaboration and education, we can ensure the longevity of our continent and our assets can be shared for generations to come.
