The Retreat by Heaven

A decade ago, Alissa and Josh Ruxin pioneered the foodie-boutique hotel experience in Kigali with Heaven Restaurant and Boutique Hotel. 

With Rwanda’s incoming tide of luxury gorilla accommodations, they wanted to give high-end travelers more reasons to spend time in the clean and safe city they call home. 

Situated in the heart of Kigali, The Retreat’s 11 rooms are solar powered and boast outdoor showers, private teak terraces, Rwandan art and photography, a yoga and meditation room, spa, and an open-air fitness center.

Fusion Restaurant, located at The Retreat, is storming the local food scene and offers delicious farm-to-table cuisine.  Of course, many guests at The Retreat love to eat at Kigali’s most famous restaurant, Heaven, which is just next door and offers an innovative modern African menu (there’s the requisite “Stairway to Heaven” to take them there!)
