Mantis is celebrating Tourism Month in a very special way this year.  In collaboration with the municipality and tourism board of Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay), Mantis is going to clean up one of Nelson Mandela Bay's most important tourist routes on Friday, 28th September 2018. This wonderful initiative will see 1000 school children from the township situated adjacent to this route cleaning up litter and plastic that will be recycled in a community project that is based in the area and run by youth from the area.

The purpose of the clean-up is to instil a paradigm shift in the minds of children in the township of Motherwell, teach them about taking care of their environment, as well as the economic possibilities that lie within tourism and recycling.

All 1 000 children will receive a day trip to Addo Elephant Park, and a select few will receive a weekend away at Fish River Resort and Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism Passes to enjoy various excursions around The Bay. The aim is to expose disadvantaged children to tourism, allow them to be tourists in their region, so they appreciate tourists and realise the value of keeping their environment pleasant for all.

Mantis is raising funds for the day by way of a silent auction. Please click on the link to bid and support this wonderful initiative.
