Ah, to be surrounded by the grunts of gnus... November marks the Great Migration's move to Southern Serengeti for the famed calving season, and our adventure-spirited mobile Serengeti Safari Camp is re-opening to welcome them.

Get on out here! Tanzania is open and welcoming guests, and the great news is that there’s no requirement for a Covid test upon arrival (unless your airline or country of origin stipulates otherwise). For full details on all this, drop us a line and we’ll gladly send you our explainer document.

"Maisha marefu" is a Tanzanian toast which means "long life" in Swahili, and is our wish for our wild places. We’d love to raise a toast with you in 2020, either at a Trade Show, or with us in Tanzania on one of our fam trips. Please follow this link to find out where you can meet with us throughout the year, starting with ITB next week. Chimpanzees are a "family business" for Mwiga Mambo; his father and uncle were among the first people to work with the Japanese research team in Mahale when they arrived in 1965. He met Jane Goodall when he was 16, and impressed her with his knowledge of chimpanzees, and with a drawing he had done of a chimp.  Mwiga has worked with Nomad Tanzania for over 20 years, all at Greystoke Mahale, and is without doubt one of the leading primatology guides on the continent. His passion, insatiable curiosity and commitment to the chimpanzees is undeniable, and we were thrilled that he had the opportunity to feature on "Faces of Africa" last week.

It's green for go We're off UK's red list! We're jumping for joy at the UK giving Tanzania the green light, just in time for green season.

Serengeti Safari Camp will soon be making its way to Ndutu in the Southern Serengeti. What that means for us at Nomad is that we can once again offer our epic transfer walk from Entamanu Ngorongoro to Serengeti Safari Camp.

Nomad guides have a reputation for being some of the best in Tanzania, and we put a lot of emphasis on their training every year.

Our Nomad camps have started the year with some fresh faces and we are delighted to introduce our new camp managers. Our beloved Greystoke Mahale manager, Julien, bade farewell to the Mahale Mountains and has joined one of our newer recruits, the lovely Michelle, on the banks of the Rufiji River to manage Sand Rivers Selous.

Our Ops team have been a busy bunch this closed season. We've now unzipped the tents, rolled back the canvas and poured the first gin and tonics. The new season is well underway, and we're as chuffed as a honey badger in a camp kitchen to be home.
