Uganda Tourism Association launches 2026–30 plan to boost sector competitiveness
The Uganda Tourism Association has launched its Strategic Plan 2026–2030 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, outlining a private sector–led push to strengthen standards, accountability and coordination with government. The five‑year roadmap aims to enhance Uganda’s tourism competitiveness and international visibility through sustainable growth, innovation and professionalism.
Priorities include institutional strengthening, sustainable financing, improved member services, clearer communication and responsible tourism practices. The plan shifts focus from volume to value – emphasising quality experiences, environmental sustainability, innovation and effective public–private partnerships – and introduces a nationwide membership drive to unify stakeholders, including community‑based enterprises. Developed with Enabel’s WeWork – Green and Decent Jobs for Youth project funded by the EU and Government of Belgium, the strategy is positioned to support investment, policy influence and youth employment across the sector.
