Tanzania set for UK consumer marketing campaign

TTUK is set to embark on a major consumer marketing push in July, partnering with Sky TV and 'Travel Africa' to increase UK visitor numbers via the trade.

Entitled "Live Out Your Wildest Dreams", the campaign features a 30-second film highlighting that Tanzania is the place for those who have dreamt of a safari. A 4-week long digital TV campaign uses sophisticated modern targeting techniques to allow TTUK to reach only those in the right age brackets (40yr+); with household incomes of over £100k and a history of interest in wildlife-related holidays. The geographical emphasis will be on the South East, but will have national exposure and will reach well over a quarter of a million targeted homes. Tim explains, "The ads seek out specific people not particular TV channels, so will be seen in different ad breaks in different homes". 

Activities will also include the production of 'Travel Tanzania' - a 76-page special edition of Travel Africa magazine that will be dedicated to the award-winning destination. The release date will be confirmed in due course, whilst there will be print and digital versions of the magazine.

As Head of Tourism Marketing, Tim Henshall highlighted, "This is our first consumer campaign for many, many years. Ideally it will provide us with a proven blue-print for increased destination marketing spend for years to come".

As His Excellency Mbelwa Kairuki (High Commissioner for Tanzania to the UK), added"We're investing in our destination to encourage would-be Africa travellers to choose Tanzania ahead of other safari options, We're are grateful to the UK travel trade for how much it continues to push Tanzania".
