Strong African and Indian Ocean Presence at ITB Berlin 2025

This year’s ITB Berlin, taking place from 4-6 March, focuses on transformation under the theme "The Power of Transition Lives Here." Key topics crucial to Africa’s tourism industry include sustainability, digitalisation, and workforce development. The ITB Transition Labs and the ITB Travel & Tourism Report will provide insights into tourism trends, while responsible tourism exhibitors and technology-driven solutions will showcase innovations shaping the industry. With demand for African travel on the rise, ITB Berlin 2025 offers a platform to strengthen global partnerships, attract investment, and drive sustainable growth in the continent’s tourism sector.
There are a record number of international exhibitors from 165 countries. Africa will have a strong presence at ITB Berlin 2025, reflecting the region’s growing prominence in global tourism. South Africa and Mauritius are among the largest exhibitors, while countries such as Namibia, Madagascar, Ethiopia, and Mozambique are expanding their stands. Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kenya, and Tanzania will showcase larger displays, and Djibouti will make its ITB debut, highlighting the diversity of African travel offerings. The Indian Ocean islands, including the Maldives and the Comoros, will also be well represented, reinforcing the region's appeal for nature, adventure, and luxury tourism.
