Seychelles Hosts First-Ever Connect China Luxury Trade Event

Tourism Seychelles launched its first international luxury B2B trade fair, Connect China 2025 Islands – Seychelles, that took place from 18–23 March 2025. The event, a collaboration with Connect China, brought 35 top-tier Chinese luxury buyers to meet with premium suppliers from Seychelles, Kenya, and Tanzania. Hosted at L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa, the opening reception was attended by key dignitaries, including Seychelles’ Minister for Foreign Affairs & Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, and the Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles, H.E. Lin Nan. The initiative highlights Seychelles’ commitment to expanding its presence in the high-end travel market and strengthening international partnerships.
As the first island destination to host the prestigious Connect event, Seychelles is positioning itself as a major player in the global luxury tourism industry. The trade fair offered networking opportunities between Chinese buyers and African tourism stakeholders, aiming to boost international visitor arrivals. Traditional Sega and Kanmtole performances showcased the islands’ Creole heritage, reinforcing the cultural appeal of the destination. Tourism Seychelles believes the event will enhance the country’s visibility, encourage investment, and support long-term collaborations, solidifying its reputation as a luxury and sustainable travel hotspot.
