SANParks Opens Six Kruger National Park Concessions to Private Investment

South African National Parks (SANParks) has invited private parties to bid for six public-private partnership (PPP) concessions within the Kruger National Park, subject to National Treasury approval. The opportunities span the Jock of the Bushveld, Mluwati, Lwakahle, Jakkalsbessie, Mpanamana and Mutlumuvi concessions, with each offering rights to operate accommodation, food and beverage, retail and wildlife activity products, alongside responsibility for managing roads and environmental infrastructure within the respective concession areas.

Successful bidders will enter into a PPP agreement with SANParks for a period designed to provide a fair return on investment, in exchange for meeting agreed operational, development, refurbishment and environmental obligations, as well as paying a PPP fee to SANParks. B-BBEE compliance forms a key component of the evaluation criteria. Interested parties are required to register with SANParks Project Administrator Jabulile Galane at [email protected] or on (012) 426 5036, and to obtain the Information Memorandum, Request for Proposal and Draft PPP Agreement documents via the Tenders section of the SANParks website at www.sanparks.org. Site visits and a bidders conference will be arranged as part of the tender process.
