Qatar Airways Boosts African Connectivity with New Routes and Increased Frequencies

Qatar Airways is expanding its African network with a series of flight resumptions, frequency increases and a new route, with changes rolling out from 16 June 2026. The airline will resume four weekly flights to Seychelles and two weekly flights to Kigali from 16 June, followed by a daily service to Marrakesh from 1 July. Frequency increases will be introduced across six additional African destinations, including Cape Town, which moves from seven to up to ten weekly flights, Cairo from 28 to up to 35, and Dar es Salaam from three to up to seven weekly flights. The Lusaka - Harare and Maputo - Durban routes will also see increased services, rising to up to seven flights per week respectively.

In addition, Qatar Airways will launch three weekly flights to Port Sudan, Sudan, from 2 July, operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday via Hamad International Airport in Doha. The new service is intended to improve connectivity for passengers travelling from key markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including Oman and Pakistan. The expansion forms part of the airline's broader strategy to rebuild its global network to over 160 destinations, reinforcing its position as a major connector between Africa and international markets.
