TAP Air Portugal Adds Porto – Sal in Cape Verde Route from October

TAP Air Portugal is launching a new direct service between Porto and Sal in Cape Verde from 25 October 2026, operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft. The route will initially run twice weekly, with departures from Porto on Thursdays and Sundays at 20h50, arriving at Amílcar Cabral International Airport at 00h20. Return flights will depart Sal on Fridays and Mondays at 01h20, arriving in Porto at 06h40. A revised schedule will apply during the IATA summer season from 29 March to 24 October.

The new service follows TAP's earlier expansion of its Porto network, which saw new routes to Terceira in the Azores and Praia in Cape Verde launch in July 2026. TAP now operates more than 130 direct flights per week from Porto across its international network, with intercontinental services including Luanda, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, New York and Boston - the latter now operating year-round. Passengers on long-haul TAP itineraries can also make use of the airline's Stopover programme, allowing up to 10 days in Lisbon or Porto at no additional airfare. The addition of Sal strengthens Porto's position as an intercontinental gateway and deepens air connectivity between Portugal and the Cape Verde archipelago.
