Pan-African Road Trip Launches in Ghana to Advance Visa-Free Travel by 2030

A 40,000-kilometre road trip spanning 39 African countries has officially begun in Accra, Ghana, as part of the Trans African Tourism & Unity Campaign. Launched on Monday, 18 August 2025, the 163-day initiative aims to promote a visa-free Africa by 2030, aligning with the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Endorsed by the Ghanaian government and led by former MP Ras Mubarak, the campaign seeks to support intra-African travel, sustainable tourism, and continental unity.

The journey, which will cover destinations across West, Central, East, and Southern Africa, includes stops in major cities such as Lagos, Kinshasa, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Addis Ababa. Participants will engage in advocacy meetings with African leaders, cultural showcases, and tourism-focused stakeholder events. Backed by partners spanning telecommunications, finance, energy, and hospitality, the campaign underscores tourism’s potential to drive economic integration and open borders across the continent.
