Nicko Cruises Reroutes World Voyage Around Africa After Middle East Itinerary Changes

Nicko Cruises has revised portions of its 175-night world cruise aboard Vasco da Gama, replacing a planned Middle East segment with an alternative routing through the Indian Ocean and around the southern coast of Africa. The vessel, which departed Hamburg on 7 November 2025, was originally scheduled to conclude its current Indonesia-originated segment in Dubai on 20 March, but will now end that leg in Port Louis, Mauritius. A subsequent segment that had been planned to depart Dubai and transit the Suez Canal en route to Greece has also been revised, with the ship instead sailing westward from Port Louis around Africa to reach Europe.

The changes also affect a land-based programme that had been designed to allow passengers to travel overland through Saudi Arabia while the vessel crossed the Red Sea region with crew only. That programme, which included hotel accommodation and a charter flight to Jeddah, will no longer proceed under the revised plan. Full details of the updated routing are still being finalised and will be communicated directly to passengers on board. Current planning indicates that Vasco da Gama will rejoin its original world cruise schedule in Málaga, Spain, on 17 April, where the next scheduled segment is due to begin.
