A new premium tourism trade event, Essence of Africa, is set to launch this December in Kenya with a strategic focus on attracting high-calibre international buyers to drive African tourism growth.

The event, organised by On Show Solutions and ATTA® Events, aims to prioritise quality over quantity in buyer-seller interactions, responding to research showing that 64% of exhibitors consider attendee calibre crucial when selecting trade events.

Organisers believe elite buyers bring more than just sales potential, offering meaningful engagement and the authority to make immediate decisions. This approach could lead to quicker sales cycles and more substantial business outcomes in the dynamic tourism sector.

The event will feature diverse networking opportunities, including seminars and panel discussions, designed to foster long-term partnerships and strategic alliances beyond the immediate event.

Success will depend heavily on sellers' preparation, with participants expected to conduct thorough research and tailor their pitches to specific buyers' needs.

If successful, the initiative could reshape how business connections are forged in African tourism, potentially inspiring a trend towards more targeted, high-value networking events across the industry.
