Morocco Briefs Fans on Travel and Visa Procedures for 2026 FIFA World Cup
The Embassy of Morocco in Washington has released guidance for Moroccan supporters planning to travel to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The advisory covers visa applications, accommodation, transport, insurance, and general travel preparation. Morocco has been drawn into Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti, with New Jersey serving as the primary hub for supporters during the group stage. The Atlas Lions open their campaign against Brazil on 13 June at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, before facing Scotland on 19 June in Boston and Haiti on 24 June in Atlanta.
On the visa front, the embassy highlighted a dedicated "FIFA Visa" system introduced by US authorities to expedite World Cup-related interview appointments, with fans required to secure match tickets through FIFA's official platform before applying. Direct flights are available from Casablanca to Washington, New York, and Miami, with a new route to Los Angeles launching on 7 June. Supporters have been advised to book accommodation early given anticipated high demand, obtain health and travel insurance - particularly important given the cost of healthcare in the US - and activate international banking and roaming services ahead of departure. Moroccan consulates across the US will establish dedicated support cells with emergency contact services throughout the tournament.
