HCB to fund tourism master plan for Mozambique’s Songo town
Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB) is funding the development of a Tourism Master Plan for Songo town and surrounding areas in Mozambique’s Tete province. The initiative aims to unlock tourism potential linked to the Cahora Bassa reservoir and surrounding cultural, natural and industrial heritage assets.
The project forms part of broader efforts to diversify the regional economy and attract tourism investment through structured destination planning. HCB has also been advancing plans for a technology museum focused on the history and engineering significance of the Cahora Bassa project, one of Africa’s largest hydropower schemes.
