Capgemini hosts Cairo AI hackathon – boosting tourism tech in Egypt
Capgemini has staged “Hack the Future of Tourism in Egypt” during the AI Everything Middle East & Africa 2026 Summit in Cairo, bringing together 24 students and recent graduates in six teams over two days to design AI tools for the end‑to‑end visitor journey – from trip planning to on‑site engagement. The initiative aligns with Egypt’s digital transformation priorities and is backed by Capgemini’s Global Delivery Center and newly established AI Center of Excellence in Cairo.
Prototypes addressed practical use cases including AI tour guides, itinerary optimisation, AR‑led storytelling, predictive demand insights and real‑time translation. The top three teams secured places on Capgemini Egypt’s Young Professionals Program, offering training, mentorship and exposure to global projects, while Capgemini mentors supported participants through a design‑thinking workshop and hands‑on guidance. Capgemini Egypt CEO Hossam Seifeldin said the effort aims to develop scalable solutions with real impact for the tourism sector.
