ATI 2027 Planning Underway as Industry Calls for Early Collaboration
Planning for Africa's Travel Indaba (ATI) 2027 is well underway, with registrations and stand applications expected to open by September 2026 and SA Tourism set to share its planning roadmap in the same month. The South African National Convention Bureau (SANCB) is also finalising discussions with ATI's bid partner, while a government audit of ATI 2026 is due to be completed by the end of August.
As planning progresses, ATTA Group Events CEO Chris Mears, alongside fellow members of the ATI Advisory Committee, has highlighted the value of early engagement with the private sector to help exhibitors and international buyers plan with confidence. The committee has also proposed initiatives including broader destination market mapping beyond Cape Town and Kruger, as well as a review of hosted buyer performance, with the shared aim of strengthening the event's long-term impact and ensuring ATI continues to deliver value for the African tourism industry.
