The 7th Africa Youth in Tourism Summit (AYTIS) 2025 was launched at Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on 29 January, signalling Kenya’s commitment to youth empowerment in the tourism and conservation sectors. Organised by Africa Tourism Partners in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife Kenya, Kenya Tourism Board, UN Tourism, AfCFTA, and other partners, the launch welcomed over 200 delegates in-person and online, showcasing the event's broad appeal. Hon. Rebecca Miano, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, called the summit "a movement" aimed at fostering innovation and emphasising the potential for intra-Africa trade in tourism services.

Scheduled to take place from 10 to 13 June 2025 in Nairobi, this marks the first time Kenya will host the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit. The programme will feature youth-led tourism business exhibitions, business-to-business networking opportunities, career guidance, and hosted buyer sessions. The event aligns with Kenya’s newly launched Youth in Tourism and Conservation initiative, which promotes young people as innovators and leaders in the tourism industry. AYTIS 2025 is also expected to highlight Africa’s rich cultural heritage and diverse experiences, positioning Kenya as a hub for collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of global tourism.
