Africa to lift FITUR 2026 presence by 30%

Organisers expect Africa’s footprint at FITUR 2026 in Madrid this January to grow by more than 30% in stand space versus the previous edition, positioning the continent for greater visibility in the European and global travel market. The African area will be located in Hall 6 alongside Middle East exhibitors, with official participation confirmed from destinations including Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Namibia, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Algeria, The Gambia, Seychelles and Sierra Leone.

First‑time exhibitors include Zanzibar, São Tomé and Príncipe, Benin and Angola, while Algeria returns after a two‑year absence. Uganda’s delegation will be bolstered by the Uganda Sustainable Tour Operators Association, Kenya’s by the Kenya Association of Tour Operators, and the African Travel and Tourism Association will attend FITUR for the first time – supporting pan‑African networking and trade. Additional exhibitors span Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Botswana, Malawi and Madagascar, with Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea nearing confirmation. The expanded presence signals stronger B2B engagement, investment interest and a growing focus on sustainable tourism across African markets.
