Africa bookings surge 23% for 2027, says Advantage Travel Partnership

UK-based travel retail network Advantage Travel Partnership has reported strong growth in bookings to Africa for 2027, with revenue for the region up 23% year-on-year and Egypt up 53% in its latest summer trading update.

The figures come as a number of major events are expected to drive demand for travel to the continent in 2027, including the total solar eclipse on 2 August, which will pass across North Africa, including Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, taking place from October to November 2027, is also expected to provide a boost, with matches being hosted across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Advantage, which represents independent travel businesses operating from around 750 locations across the UK, also reported a 22% increase in revenue from touring bookings. South Africa and Kenya are the two most popular long-haul destinations within this category.
