Overview

Umlingo Travel PR offers freelance PR, specialising in African hotels and lodges. Founder Claire Roadley has over 25 years of experience in Travel PR - promoting tourism to (mostly) Africa in partnership with travel agents, tour operators, airlines and tourist boards. She has longstanding relationships with the key travel writers, publications and editors and has hosted numerous group press trips over the years as well as fam trips for the trade. Umlingo is all about the skills - with less of the frills.

Current clients include Bushtops Safari Camps in Kenya and Tanzania, Mosetlha Bush Camp & Eco Lodge in South Africa's Madikwe Game Reserve and Onguma Camp Kala which launched on 1 November 2022 on the fringe of Etosha National Park in Namibia.

I also do the PR for digital trade show OurAfrica.Travel (now open for registration for 5-9 February 2024)

Umlingo also supports Tuk South (pro bono), who recently completed their expedition by tuk tuk from Kenya to Cape Town, raising funds For Rangers and telling sustainability stories as they go.

I am also very proud to be working with some incredible, inspiring teams under Nianova which includes Tswalu, Fireblade Aviation, Niarra Travel, the JAN group - and new sustainability management SaaS platform Weeva.

I also offer social media and PR support to one of the UK’s most respected representation companies, Travel Promoters.
