Onguma Trails Camp is Open - and new Ombili experience

The brand new Onguma Trails Camp which launched on 1 April embodies Onguma Nature Reserve's eco-conscious ethos, featuring solar power, and sustainable practices to minimise environmental impact while providing a memorable guest experience.
Official photos will be shared with you soon so watch this space, but in the meantime you can enjoy a sneak peek at the new video here. You can also watch expert Alan McSmith talking about the walking trails experience. With just four ensuite glamping bell tents, the camp accommodates a maximum of eight guests. Each tent features extra-length beds, sumptuous bedding, a private ensuite outdoor bathroom with a hot bucket shower. Guests can unwind in front of their tent or in their private wood-fired hot tub, soaking in the sight and sounds of the wilderness. Trails are either 2 or 3 nights with set departures throughout the winter period.
OMBILI CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
In other exciting news, Onguma has partnered with the Ombili Foundation to introduce a guided cultural village experience engaging with the local San community. Located approximately one hour from Onguma, the approximately two-and-a-half-hour experience includes visits to the Ombili community garden, school, craft centre and Bushman Trail. Guests can learn about San traditions through fire-making demonstrations, traditional dances and performances by the Ombili Community Choir. The initiative is aimed at providing educational insights into the San people’s heritage while supporting community development through the Ombili Foundation. The tour ends with an opportunity to meet community members and purchase handmade crafts such as baskets and carvings. Read more on Tourism Update.
