Inyati Game Lodge is situated in one of the world’s largest and most prestigious private conservation areas, the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve adjoining the renowned Kruger National Park. The perennial Sand River with its golden African sunshine and cool, shady hideaways runs through Inyati. At night, wildlife sounds fill the star-studded sky. Lions roar, jackals howl and hyenas laugh. African drums respond.
Inyati’s setting on the banks of the Sand River offers a tranquil, private environment that enables intimate wildlife encounters and an authentic, immersive experience in the African bush.
As COVID-19 continues and the world evolves to the "new normal", Inyati Game Lodge continues their proactive efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests and staff. We no longer require proof of vaccination for arrivals at Inyati Game Lodge, Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
The COVID-19 vaccination rollout took place from the 30th of August to the 1st of September 2021. Temporary COVID-19 vaccination stations within the Sabi Sand at Ulusaba and our neighbouring community administration facilities were set up.

Amidst the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic and in line with public health advice, we have taken the decision to temporarily close Inyati Game Lodge, Sabi Sands Game Reserve with immediate effect. It is our intention to reopen on 1 May 2020 provided that it is safe to do so. While this was a hard decision for us to make, we believe it is the socially responsible thing to do and it is important to take the required precautionary measures to protect our team, our guests, our families and our communities.
#TeamInyati The Extra Mile, sponsored by Investec Rhino Lifeline is the Sabi Sands’ first trail run. The 10km or 21km trail traverses through the scenic areas on the borders of the Sabi Sands Wildtuin area. The route started at the Digital Learning Campus at Huntington Village and continued through the communities of Huntington and Justicia, finishing on the soccer field at Hunt Digital Learning Campus and Hundzukani Primary School.
The team from Inyati Game Lodge are pleased to announce a substantial refurbishment of the lodge, which is set in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park.
Major structural renovations of the central recreational areas include an extension of the main veranda area to capitalise on the uninterrupted scenes of the Sand river and its rich game viewing opportunities.
Inyati Game Lodge has always been a supporter of the Sabi Sand Wildtuin rhino protection programme and can boast that we are the largest donor of the total cost of the SSW helicopter programme.
Rhino poaching has severely impacted almost all of the reserves within South Africa, and as a result the Sabi Sand Wildtuin has committed itself to providing a safe haven for rhino. In 2013, after significant rhino losses in the area and across the country the Sabi Sand undertook the implementation of a major rhino protection project aimed at creating a sanctuary for our rhino.

The majority of Inyati’s employees are from the impoverished Bushbuckridge communities. Inyati recognises the socio-economic issues of the area and we make every effort to address them in a progressive and mutually beneficial way. Our commitment to transformation extends beyond our employees through our community programmes. We assist local schools and are a major partner in establishing a digital learning centre with Good Work Foundation (GWF) in the Dumphries community on the border of Inyati. GWF provides learning opportunities to school children, adult learning programmes and connects young rural South Africans to the huge opportunities in the growing economy of wildlife.
