Overview

Best known for the 'Great Migration' where nearly two million wildebeest roam the plains, the Serengeti Mara ecosystem hosts the last great concentration of mixed-species wildlife, predators and prey in Africa. Alex Walker's Serian comprises a collection of exceptional and intimate safari camps deep in Kenya's Mara North Conservancy and Mara Reserve.

To truly experience the phenomenal migration, three seasonal mobile camps are located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. Amongst the most authentic in East Africa, they flaunt a sense of spirited style and offer characteristic flexibility. Operating distinctive safaris, eco-chic 'Serian' is about conservation, adventure, wildlife & walking. Guests will also enjoy their exclusive dedicated guide and vehicle to ensure they get the most from their experience at Serian. Serian also offers "The Nest", our tree house experience. It is located in our own exclusive use walking area, a short walk from Ngare Serian, offering the ultimate in night out in the bush.

Alex Walker, a fourth-generation East African, has been guiding and outfitting safaris throughout East Africa for over thirty years. Brought up in the tea fields of Mufindi, his childhood was spent exploring the bush of Southern Tanzania, the Mau forest in Kenya, the mountains, and the vast wilderness of Southern Sudan. The adage' location, location, location' surpasses all - Serian has it in spades. Simply put, it's one of the best game-viewing experiences in Africa!

Along the boundaries of East Africa’s mighty wilderness areas, a diverse array of tribal communities expand and conserve pristine wildlife habitat. In stunning landscapes, at the spears edge of human wildlife conflict, they strive to sustain a balance between their traditional cultures, their future development and the vulnerable wildlife they live alongside. As a Conservancy Guardian, our mission is simple – to protect that balance, empower those communities and allow African wildlife to thrive.
