Welcome to The Rhino Momma Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving and expanding the White Rhino population in Namibia. It is our mission to support the largest White Rhino breeding program in Namibia, who aim to save this magnificent species from extinction through anti-poaching strategies, conservation education, and importantly, breeding new calves to repopulate, Namibia, Africa, and hopefully the world.
Side by Side Early Intervention Centre is a registered Namibian non-profit organisation established under Section 21 (Registration No. 21/2013/0487). Founded by Sandra Hollweg and Anita Nangombe, the organisation was created in response to the limited early-intervention and pre-primary support available to children with disabilities, particularly within underserved township communities.
With the support of donors—many of whom are based in Germany—Sandra used her professional experience and knowledge to establish a strong support system for children with disabilities and their families. Her dedication laid the foundation for an organisation that continues to make a meaningful and lasting difference in communities across Namibia.
Following Sandra’s return to Germany in December 2017, Huipie van Wyk assumed leadership of the organisation. As the mother of a child with a severe disability, Huipie brings deep personal understanding, practical experience and a strong commitment to improving access to community and medical support. She continues to develop Side by Side’s services and strengthen its capacity to meet the growing needs of children with disabilities and their families.
Alongside its core focus on early intervention, Side by Side serves as an educational and family-support resource. Through workshops, information sessions and practical guidance, the organisation equips parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the challenges of raising a child with a disability.
Side by Side is more than an early-intervention centre. It is a place of hope, inclusion and opportunity—helping children reach their potential while building a stronger and more supportive future for their families and communities.
