We are thrilled to have added two brand new Cessna Caravan this year. This is yet another addition from last year’s arrival of two aircraft

The 2nd Quarter of the year promises to be very eventful for Coastal, and we are excited about the changes it will bring.

Tanzania has also removed the PCR test requirement for fully vaccinated travellers. Coastal will, for the time being, maintain the present Covid policy. Global trends and events will be monitored and assessed, and reviews of the policy will be made accordingly.

Coastal Travels Limited is pleased to announce that‚ it has successfully completed the IATA Standard Safety Assessment (ISSA) designed for commercial passenger and/or cargo operators and the airline is now on the ISSA registry. The ISSA program is a global safety standard for commercial operators not covered by existing programs.

We are heading into the rainy, low season, as we make preparations for the high season, which will follow thereafter. Major global event has impacted our businesses drastically, and the aviation sector has been highlighted, especially now, within the pandemic environment.

Some discoveries are too good not to share … from the plains of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, famous for the magnificent annual wildebeest migration, to the pristine white-sand beaches of Zanzibar famously known for its culture and heritage. From 11th September, Coastal will be flying you on those adventures daily, from the heart of the Bush to the Beach.

We are thrilled that it has been a year since we launched our  *Fly Green* campaign and at having made a huge impact on the way we do things. We believe passionately in playing our part by being the change we wish to see in the world and are not afraid to take those first baby steps.

Dear Partners, In the current environment, we have rolled out some very intensive sanitization procedures to reassure you that along with our in-house engineering and maintenance team, we have taken great care of our fleet of aircraft. All of this, so that when you take to the skies, you will be safe and comfortable flying with us.

While the world was on halt, Mother Nature has been healing, including our Serengeti. Now that the airspace is being opened up and many countries are easing their lockdowns, the Serengeti is ready to welcome us all back.  We have put in place several safeguards to make sure our passengers are safe while flying with us.

There are signs that the COVID-19 pandemic is moving towards a new stage as many countries are starting to ease their lockdowns, and even in our own Tanzania, airspace is being opened up. We are sworn Aviation professionals, Safety is our #1 Priority. But now, even more so! We have rolled out our Safety & Operational Policy for dealing with this crisis, both to protect ourselves and our customers.

Dear Partners, We continue to chart our way through the global pandemic that we are all facing. The Kenyan and Rwandese governments have imposed travel restrictions, as many other countries are doing. We are sorry to inform you that all our Kigali and Nairobi Coastal operated flights on CQ231/2 and CQ271/2 will be suspended with immediate effect, until further notice.

Dear Partners, Following the outbreak of COVID-19, our thoughts and prayers go out to all those that have been affected by this situation. We also extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the selfless efforts and sacrifice made by our health workers and authorities to steer us through this.

The first thing that always comes to mind when we think about World Wildlife Day is heading out on a safari or any botanical conservatory and reminding ourselves of the vast variety of life our world offers.  Being pioneers of a Flying Safari network capable of accessing some of the most remote parks of Tanzania and East Africa, Coastal has made it possible for customers to view some of the most majestic animals in the world, in their natural habitats.

Partners and Dear Friends,  We appreciate the great support received from all of you throughout the year. Thank you very much! Looking back, we have had some amazing successes; Introduction of Multi Crew Coordination (2 pilots flying together), our eco-partnerships with Carbon Tanzania and Wild Aid are blossoming; and many more that we are proud of. Obviously a long way to go, but comforting to know that we too have started our journey.

Successfully arriving at your destination of choice is a culmination of several behind the scenes procedures and considerations to make sure your flight is not only safe and comfortable but hopefully positively memorable. And that too is Coastal Aviation’s aspiration.

Coastal is honoured to have been integral to the development of ecological and sustainable tourism in Tanzania. The Flying Safari Company believes, Safari, no matter how long or short, has always resulted in adventure, an element of chance and a potentially volatile itinerary to capture the most amazingly unique experiences up close and first-hand. Safari flying has eradicated the barriers of long distances, hostile weather and an absence of roads or bridges, to make travelling in Africa some of the most intrepid and magical experiences of a lifetime.

On September 16th 1987, Coastal embarked on its maiden voyage from Dar-Es-Salaam to Selous in a single-engine Cessna 206. 32 years on, we would like to thank you all for your continued support and we look forward to many more years in service together.
