WTM Africa 2026 puts responsible tourism at the centre of Cape Town show
World Travel Market (WTM) Africa 2026 will place responsible tourism at the core of its event at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 13–15 April. The programme includes two half‑day Responsible Tourism conferences led by Harold Goodwin on 13 and 14 April and concludes with the WTM Africa Responsible Tourism Awards – entries close 20 March 2026, with gold winners progressing to the Global Responsible Tourism Awards in London.
Sessions will address tourism in the wildlife economy, anti‑greenwashing and credible certification, with a Wetu‑partnered panel on B2B market access and supply‑chain requirements, alongside case studies such as Piggs Peak Hotel’s community value gains. On‑floor initiatives feature African penguin conservation with SANCCOB and Uthando, an African wild dog art activation with Painted Wolf Wines, and the return of the Crafters Nexus, while locally made trophies and recycled‑material pins reinforce a practical sustainability blueprint backed by the Host City of Cape Town.
