WildPlaces Africa Opens Luxury Lodge in Remote Murchison Falls National Park
WildPlaces Africa has opened Kulu Ora, its seventh property and newest luxury safari lodge, situated within a newly designated 75,000-hectare low-impact zone in Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda. The lodge offers 11 canvas-walled suites, each with a private plunge pool and views over the Nile River, with interiors combining handcrafted and vintage furniture. The opening coincides with improved access to Uganda following the introduction of direct flights between London Gatwick and Entebbe by Uganda Airlines, strengthening the country's appeal to international travellers.
Named after the word for "river" in two local languages, Kulu Ora shares its secluded concession only with WildPlaces' Papa's Camp, ensuring limited footfall and rare wildlife encounters. The lodge is fully solar-powered and built using minimal-impact construction methods, with most of the structure designed to be dismantled without trace. Facilities include a riverside spa using locally produced oils and butters, a curated library, and an on-site garden supplying the kitchen with fresh produce. A conservation levy applied to all guest stays directly funds protection initiatives within Murchison Falls National Park and supports community projects in surrounding areas.
