Western Cape International Tourism Revenue Hits R25.9 Billion in 2025
The Western Cape attracted 1.5 million international tourists in 2025, generating R25.9 billion in tourism revenue - equivalent to a quarter of South Africa's total international tourism earnings for the year, according to newly released data from South African Tourism.
International arrivals to the province grew by 11.1%, with the United Kingdom and Germany remaining the largest source markets. Domestic tourism also performed strongly, with approximately four million overnight trips recorded, up 15.4% year-on-year, and the province achieving the highest average domestic spend per overnight trip in the country at R3,172.
