Wayfairer Travel ceases trading: information for ATTA® members
ATTA® is sorry to report that member Wayfairer Travel (membership number 206206), based in Bristol, UK, ceased trading on 2 September 2026.
Alan Bowen, ATTA®’s Legal Advisor from AGB Associates has provided the following information:
UK-based customers currently travelling
Customers who are already overseas on a Wayfairer Travel holiday should be able to continue their trip as planned.
Members providing services to these customers should contact Wayfairer Travel’s financial protection provider, ABTOT, at [email protected], providing details of the customers concerned and any costs incurred from the date of the company’s failure.
It is not expected that any further Wayfairer Travel customers will depart during September. ABTOT will confirm cancellations directly with the relevant suppliers in due course.
For urgent enquiries concerning UK customers, contact ABTOT on +44 (0)20 7065 5311.
Customers based outside the UK
Customers based in the EU should have financial protection arrangements in place and should be advised to contact the relevant protection provider in their country of residence.
Customers based outside the UK and EU should be advised to contact their travel insurer or card issuer to establish what protection may be available.
Outstanding invoices for completed travel
Financial protection schemes do not cover outstanding invoices relating to customers who completed their travel before Wayfairer Travel ceased trading.
Members with outstanding invoices for previously completed travel will need to submit a claim to the company’s administrators once their details have been confirmed. Please be aware that there is no guarantee sufficient funds will be available to settle these claims in full.
ATTA® will share further relevant information with members as it becomes available.
