Victoria Falls border moves to 24-hour operations

The Victoria Falls Border Post between Zimbabwe and Zambia has moved to 24‑hour operations with immediate effect, following a Government Gazette on 13 November 2025 (General Notice 2265A) issued under Section 41 of the Immigration Act and confirmed by Ambassador Raphael Faranisi, Secretary for Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage. The change enables round‑the‑clock crossings and is intended to improve mobility for travellers and businesses in one of Southern Africa’s busiest tourism corridors.

Tourism operators expect greater flexibility for cross‑border excursions, including sunrise and sunset visits, night‑time activities and multi‑destination itineraries, while reduced peak‑hour congestion should improve the visitor experience. Continuous operations are also set to cut delays for freight and small traders, lower transport costs and enhance supply chain reliability across the region – supporting broader integration and growth in Southern Africa.
