Uganda Wildlife Authority launches online booking for wildlife tours

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has unveiled a new online booking system for tour operators, marking a significant improvement in managing reservations for gorilla treks and other wildlife attractions. The system, developed in collaboration with KAPS (U) Ltd, aims to enhance efficiency and ease the process of booking and paying for wildlife experiences.
Key features include online functionality for licensed tour operators, integration with the financial system, and compatibility with various payment methods and currencies. The system also incorporates measures to prevent fraud and reduce the need for cash transactions.
UWA Director of Business Development, Stephen Sanyi Masaba, emphasized that this development aligns with the organization's commitment to sustainability and efficient wildlife management. The system is designed to streamline operations, reduce paperwork, and allow for remote bookings and payments.
This initiative follows UWA's April 2024 commitment to the global Climate Friendly Network, supporting the 2050 climate-neutral ambition. The new booking system represents an actionable step towards achieving Climate Friendly Travel goals and attracting high-value travellers to Uganda's diverse wildlife offerings.
