Uganda steps up German market campaign
Uganda has intensified a coordinated tourism and trade push in Germany, aiming to lift annual arrivals from Germany from more than 28,000 to at least 40,000. Led by the embassy in Berlin, the campaign focuses on German‑language promotional materials, a stronger presence at major trade fairs in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne, and wider outreach to German businesses and investors.
Delivery will include familiarisation trips for tour operators, influencers and media, plus cultural and coffee activations to boost destination awareness. Officials highlight closer coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Uganda Tourism Board and private operators, noting Germany is Uganda’s second‑largest European source market after the UK and one of the world’s most active outbound travel markets – positioning the drive to convert interest into sustained growth.
