Tswalu Kalahari has completed a soft refurbishment of its exclusive-use Tarkuni homestead in the Southern Kalahari, updating interiors while maintaining the property's low-impact, design-led approach. The refresh includes redesigned open-plan lounge and dining areas, a new mezzanine lounge, updated bedrooms with fresh linen and soft furnishings, and an improved outdoor "tsala" retreat space.
Tarkuni remains Tswalu's most private accommodation option, offered exclusively to a single group at a time with a dedicated chef, house manager, guide and tracker. The update reflects a broader industry trend among premium safari operators towards refining rather than expanding their product, as demand for fully private, personalised safari experiences among families and small groups continues to grow.
