Tourism Seychelles links marketing to reforestation

Tourism Seychelles has advanced its sustainability drive through a tree‑planting partnership with Tripadvisor Ad Express and Dots.eco that ties advertising spend to restoration projects. The initiative has funded the planting of more than 2,000 trees while promoting the archipelago as a premium destination, aligning destination marketing with measurable environmental impact.

According to the partners, 1,998 trees were planted across three regions in Senegal to restore land degraded by peanut monoculture as part of a wider 30,000‑hectare agroforestry conversion, and 100 trees were added in Mali’s Kayes and Koulikoro under Trees for the Future’s long‑term forest garden project within the Great Green Wall. The programme forms part of the Sustainable Seychelles campaign, with each tree certified for transparency – underscoring the destination’s focus on climate resilience and responsible tourism across the region.
